The excitation level of the quartz crystal oscillator can be expressed in accordance with the power consumption of the crystal oscillator under various working conditions, or according to the current level. If excessive power is used to make the crystal oscillator work, it may cause deterioration of characteristics such as frequency instability, as well as the risk of damage to the quartz chip. Before use, it is recommended to make sure that the excitation level used does not exceed the absolute maximum excitation level when designing the circuit.

The load capacity (CL) is a parameter used to determine the frequency of the crystal oscillator in the oscillator circuit. The load capacity can be known from the capacitance added to the crystal oscillator in the oscillator circuit (see Figure 12). Due to the different load capacity of the oscillation circuit, the frequency of the crystal oscillator will vary accordingly. In order to obtain the target frequency accuracy, the crystal oscillator must be matched with the load capacity. When in use, please set the load capacity of the oscillation circuit to match it according to the load capacity of the corresponding crystal oscillator.
